Cork
What is cork?
Cork is the bark of the cork oak. When it is stripped, the tree is not cut down: it grows a new layer of bark, and the same tree can be stripped again about nine years later.
What is cork fabric?
On our sewn pieces, cork fabric means a thin layer of cork bonded to a textile backing. The plain coasters and placemats use cork sheet. The exact composition of the textile backing, and of the rust-red woven lining inside our bags and pouches, is confirmed per production batch with our supplier and is available on request by email.
Does stripping the bark harm the tree?
No. Cork is stripped from the living tree, which is left standing and grows a new layer of bark over the following years. This is how cork is generally harvested and made into fabric. We do not make claims about our own supply chain.
Is cork waterproof?
We make no waterproof or water-resistant claim. A little rain is part of everyday life, but please do not soak your piece. If it gets wet, wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
Do the harvest photos show your own suppliers?
No. The images of the cork harvest and process on our home and About pages illustrate how cork is generally harvested and made into fabric. They do not show our own suppliers.
The pieces
Why does no two pieces look the same? Is the one in the photo the one I get?
Cork is a natural material, so the grain differs on every piece. The piece you receive will not look exactly like the image. Colours can also vary slightly between screens, and the props in our scenes — clothes, phones, cards, plates, glasses, food, plants — are not included.
Is it leather?
No. Our pieces are made from cork fabric and cork sheet, not leather and not “vegan leather”.
What is the Red Line?
Every sewn piece carries one line of rust-red topstitching. We call it the Red Line. Zips, snaps, buckles and rings are metal.
Which tones do you use?
Three: Natural (honey tan), Smoked (dark espresso brown) and Moss (muted olive green).
What sizes are available, and what fits inside?
Every product page lists the measurements of that piece and what it is designed to hold. Our range runs from 40 products — bags, wallets and card holders, coasters, placemats and pouches — priced from USD 20 to USD 92.
Care
How do I clean my cork piece?
Wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not soak it and do not machine-wash it.
Can I put hot pans or dishes on a coaster or placemat?
No. Coasters and placemats are not trivets. Do not put pans or dishes straight from the oven or stove on them.
What happens with normal wear?
Cork scuffs and softens with use, and long exposure to sun can fade it. That is normal wear, not a lack of conformity, and damage from misuse is not covered either. There is no separate commercial warranty.
Prices, currencies and taxes
Which currency will I see?
Prices are held in USD and shown in the currency of your delivery country: USD (United States, Canada), GBP (United Kingdom), EUR (Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Finland, Italy), DKK (Denmark), SEK (Sweden), NOK (Norway) and CHF (Switzerland). Every price is shown with its ISO currency code, and you can switch currency in the header.
Is the price I see the final price?
For deliveries within the EU, prices include VAT (IVA) and no extra tax is added at checkout. For deliveries outside the EU — the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States and Canada — the price shown is the price you pay us; import VAT, duties or carrier clearance fees of the destination country may be charged by the carrier on delivery and are payable by the recipient. If we know before dispatch that such charges apply, we tell you and you may cancel free of charge. See Shipping.
Are there discount codes or promotions?
No. We run no promotions, no discount codes, no free-delivery offers and no countdowns. Sets are sold at one fixed set price.
Payment
How can I pay?
With the payment methods shown at checkout. Card payments are processed by Stripe; PayPal may be offered when it is enabled.
Is my payment data safe?
Payment data is handled by PCI DSS certified providers over HTTPS. Card numbers are never stored on our servers.
What appears on my bank statement?
The descriptor is GLEAMORI.
When is my order actually placed?
The order button reads “Place order and pay”. The contract is concluded when we send you the order confirmation email.
Delivery
How long does delivery take and what does it cost?
One flat tracked rate per order, per destination, with times counted from dispatch. We dispatch within 1 to 3 business days, Monday to Friday, excluding Portuguese public holidays. The rates and delivery times for your country are set out on the Shipping page.
Is my order tracked?
Yes. Every order is tracked, and we send a dispatch email with the tracking number.
What if my order does not arrive in time?
If no delivery date was agreed, we deliver within 30 days of the order at the latest, as Portuguese law requires. If we cannot, you can cancel and get a full refund.
Returns and the legal guarantee
Can I return something I do not want?
Yes. Beyond your statutory rights, we offer every customer worldwide 30 days from delivery to return unused items in their original condition. Email us first and we will send you the return address; the registered office is not a returns address.
What is the right of withdrawal?
Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK have 14 days from the day you — or a person you name, other than the carrier — receive the goods, to withdraw without giving any reason, using the electronic withdrawal function at Withdraw from contract here or the model withdrawal form. We refund all payments, including the standard delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal, using the same payment method; we may withhold the refund until we have the goods back or proof that you sent them. You send the goods back within 14 days and pay the direct cost of return, unless the item is faulty or wrong. Cancelling before dispatch is free, by email or the withdrawal form. Full details are on the Returns page.
Is there a legal guarantee?
Yes. New goods carry a 3-year legal guarantee of conformity from delivery (Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021). A lack of conformity that appears within the first 2 years is presumed to have existed at delivery, and it is for us to prove otherwise. The first remedies are repair or replacement; if that is not possible, you may ask for a price reduction or terminate the contract. If a lack of conformity appears within 30 days of delivery, you may ask for immediate replacement or termination. We pay the return costs for faulty items. Consumers in other countries also keep the mandatory rights of their own country. See Legal guarantee.
Where can I complain, or take a dispute further?
Portugal has the Electronic Complaints Book at livroreclamacoes.pt, where we answer within 15 business days. For alternative dispute resolution, the competent consumer arbitration centre for our registered office is TRIAVE — Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo do Vale do Ave, Rua Capitão Alfredo Guimarães, 1, 4800-019 Guimarães, Portugal (triave.pt, geral@triave.pt, +351 253 422 410); nationwide you can also use CNIACC (cniacc.pt). Consumers elsewhere in the EU can get free help with cross-border disputes from the European Consumer Centres network, through the centre in their own country. See Complaints and disputes.
The company
Who runs the shop?
GLEAMORI is the brand under which EIRATEXTIL – INDUSTRIA DE CONFECÇÕES, LDA, a Portuguese private limited company, sells online. Its registered office details are on the Legal information page.
Where are the products made?
We do not state a country of origin, and we do not claim one. Production details are confirmed per batch with our supplier, so if you need particular information about how a piece is made, ask us by email and we will tell you what we can confirm for that batch.
Can I visit the registered office?
No — it is not a shop or a warehouse, and it is not a returns address. If you need to send something back, email us first and we will give you the return address.
How do I contact you?
Email support@gleamori.shop or call +351 913 650 284, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 Lisbon time. Calls go to a Portuguese mobile number, so international rates may apply. We reply to emails within two business days.
