This page explains the cookies and the single item of local storage used at gleamori.shop: what each one does, who sets it, and how long it stays in your browser. It also explains why you will not see a cookie consent banner when you visit, and how to remove cookies yourself.
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is a similar small store inside your browser. The site reads them back when you move from one page to another or return later. Neither can run programs on your device or read your other files.
At a glance
- We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work.
- There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no social media plugins.
- No cookie is used to build a profile of you or to follow you to other websites.
- Strictly necessary cookies do not need your permission, so there is nothing for you to accept or reject. That is why there is no banner.
Every cookie and local storage item we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash | gleamori.shop (our own website) | Keeps the contents of your cart in step between pages, so the cart you see matches the cart stored for your visit. | Session: deleted when you close your browser. |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | gleamori.shop (our own website) | Records whether there is anything in your cart, so the cart indicator and the checkout work correctly. | Session: deleted when you close your browser. |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | gleamori.shop (our own website) | Stores your session: your cart, your choices during the visit and the progress of an order you are placing. | 2 days. |
| gl_lang | gleamori.shop (our own website) | Remembers the language you chose for the site, so you do not have to choose it again on every page. | 1 year. |
| Country and currency cookie set by our pricing plugin (the name is set by the plugin) | gleamori.shop (our own website) | Remembers the delivery country you selected, so prices are shown in the right currency and with the right delivery rate. Stored in the shop session. | Session: deleted when you close your browser. |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) | Fraud prevention: identifies the device used for the payment so Stripe can check that the card payment is genuine. Set only at checkout, and only if you pay by card. | 1 year. |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) | Fraud prevention during the payment session itself. Set only at checkout, and only if you pay by card. | 30 minutes. |
| PayPal cookies (names and lifetimes are set by PayPal) | PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. (Luxembourg) | Fraud prevention and running the payment. Set only at checkout, and only if PayPal is offered there and you choose it. | Set by PayPal at the time of payment; see PayPal’s own cookie notice. |
| gl_cookie_ok | Stored in your browser’s local storage by gleamori.shop. This is not a cookie and is not sent to us with your requests. | Remembers that you have already seen the cookie note, so it is not shown again on every page. | Until you delete your browser data for this site. |
The exact composition of the textile backing and lining used in our products has nothing to do with this page; if you need it, write to us (see below). For how we handle personal data such as your order and delivery details, please read our Privacy Policy.
Why there is no consent banner
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, as implemented in Portugal by Lei n.º 41/2004, storing information on your device — or reading it back — requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. The cookies listed above fall in that exception: they keep your cart, your session, your language and your country in place, and the two payment providers’ cookies exist only to process and protect a payment you have chosen to make. Without them, the cart, the checkout or the price display simply would not work.
No optional cookies means no banner. Because we use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, there is nothing for you to switch on or off, so a consent banner would have nothing to ask you. Instead you get a short information note the first time you visit, and this page for the details. You can still block or delete these strictly necessary cookies in your browser — but parts of the shop, such as the cart and checkout, may then stop working.
When you pay, Stripe or PayPal receives the payment details you enter, as described in our Privacy Policy. Card numbers are handled by PCI DSS certified payment providers over HTTPS and are never stored on our servers.
How to delete or block cookies in your browser
You can see, delete and block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The wording differs slightly between versions and devices, but the steps below will get you there.
Google Chrome (desktop and Android)
- Open the three-dot menu and choose Settings.
- Go to Privacy and security, then Delete browsing data.
- Tick Cookies and other site data, choose a time range, and confirm.
To remove a single site only: Privacy and security → Third-party cookies (or See all site data and permissions), search for gleamori.shop and delete its data.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Settings and go to Privacy & Security.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, choose Manage Data to remove one site, or Clear Data to remove them all.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Settings and go to Cookies and site permissions.
- Choose Manage and delete cookies and site data, then remove individual sites or all of them.
Safari on Mac
- Open Safari → Settings → Privacy.
- Choose Manage Website Data, select the sites you want, and remove them.
Safari on iPhone or iPad
- Open the Settings app and tap Safari.
- Tap Advanced → Website Data, then remove individual sites or all website data.
Other browsers and private windows
Most other browsers keep the same controls under a privacy or site-data heading in their settings. You can also open the site in a private or incognito window: cookies and local storage are then discarded when you close that window. Blocking all cookies in your browser settings will also affect other sites you visit.
Two things worth knowing before you clear site data:
- Deleting cookies logs you out of your account and empties your cart, because the session and cart are exactly what those cookies hold.
- Deleting local storage removes gl_cookie_ok as well, so the cookie information note will appear once more on your next visit.
